Spring/Summer could not come any sooner, good vibes ahead

Having been in some kind of lockdown since Autumn, the hope of a positive Spring/Summer is now upon us in Australia. Fashion Week may have had to shift to digital and new formats, but creativity has continued to flourish. Optimistic shapes from Preen, Loewe and Simone Rocha makes me want to cover myself in decadent rolls of fabric and call it a day. Brands like Fendi, Thom Browne and Ermanno Scervino challenge ideas of a white outfit and my love for red and soy sauce with delicate lace and sheers. In a post-COVID-19 world, I choose to wear Rick Owen's power shoulders with those credit card inducing thigh-high kiss boots with a matching mask of course. New guard with Matthew Williamson at the helm of Givenchy, reverting the brand back to its sharp tailoring and flourishes of embellishment not to mention's William's fresh take on the brand's accessories and hardware. Christopher Kane has taken to painting in lockdown with pieces that scream everyone's frustration in a rainbow to colours. It would not be Spring Summer without a trip to the beach, Cecile Bahnsen and Christopher Esber take you to the beach with both cheeky cut-outs and windbreaking sheers.

It may still be a weird time, but at least the visual envelope continues to push on with the hope that these pieces get worn one day!
