The Sky is the Limit.

I like to look up to ground myself. Whether I am busy with work or simply just wanting to refresh I look to the blue sky and the clouds and a sense of mystery and magic comes up. Recently I have found myself looking up in a different way. I am learning to take my experiences and use them as a foundation to grow and learn, but not let them determine my trajectory. The sky is the limit as it reminds me that everything changes and once was right or the norm will no longer be in a matter of minutes, days or years. The worst thing I can do is stay in my past experiences or what I know, instead of moving forward and building on what can be done and not what has been. As I look back at things that used to give me comfort like nostalgic TV Shows are now sad examples of how I felt comfortable with media that made fun of people like me. Whether it be the racial exclusion or quick humored homophobic jokes I am proud that those things no longer go through my ears without a kind of moral alert, but again it's crazy to think such shows gave me such laughter and memories, but such was the time. Progress is the aim of the game, being able to look back and cringe is a sign that things have moved on and progressed. Is it slow? Sure but it would be even crazier to look back and say that it was basically the same.

The sky is the limit because it has to be. Without dreamers, we don’t move the needle. Culture doesn’t grow and humanity doesn’t grow. Limits exist to slow us down, to box our mindsets to thinking nothing can be done. When really the cement is self-imposed. We are free to think and dream aloud as long as we want to. It’s not about doing everything and anything. Rather knowing that the possibilities are endless from now and until well forever.
