LISTENING
albums, podcasts & songs
Confetti - Little Mix / My Love - Westlife / Monster - Paloma Faith
Bittersweet - Lianne La Havas / POV - Ariana Grande / Fast Love - George Michael

I'm such a creature of habit with Music. Upbeat all the way, which helps to motivate me to go out for a walk or run. As a Little Mix STAN, I have Confetti on rotation, mixing it with their back catalogue of course. Slow jams by Lianne La Havas and Ariana Grande have me wishing I was blessed with an angelic Whitney Houston style voice... but alas. And guilty pleasures come in the form of Westlife's My Love and George Michael, need I say more.

READING
audiobooks & books
Boyfriend Material / Lot: Stories / Memorial / Shuggie Bain
The Life & Love of a He Devil / Untamed

Less is definitely more in the book department. With lockdown, I've learnt the in's and outs of my local library's digital catalogues so I have a lot of books at my disposal, but it's now about quality vs quantity. My favourite so far has been Memorial by Bryan Washington. You know those books that are easy to read and yet take you on a journey where you can visualise if not feel like you are with the character. Memorial takes me to Houston and Osaka, making my yearn to go back to Japan and enjoy yummy food.

STREAMING
series, mini-series
The Queen's Gambit / It's a Sin / The Flight Attendant / RuPaul's Drag Race / Big Mouth / Naruto

There are some gems to watch. Not going to lie I'm liking HBO Max's programming a lot, with The Flight Attendant and It's a Sin ranking high on my list for being both engaging and well written. I think everyone has spoken about The Queen's Gambit... and as a result, I may have downloaded a chess app. RuPaul's Drag Race is back with both US Season 13 and UK Season 2! I don't care what people say about Drag Race fatigue if there can be a million housewives shows with toxic drama I'll stick with Drag Race, at least the runways and lip-syncs are fierce. I'm slowly crawling back into my cartoon loving shell with the hilarious Big Mouth (Connie the hormone monstress <3) and the hundreds of episodes of Naruto... and I'm just scratching the surface.

WATCHING
movies, documentaries
Brave / Dries / Judy / Ma Rainey's Black Bottom / El Príncipe / Your Name Engraved Herein

I've been sleeping on a few films. Brave and Judy, two polar opposites but great films nonetheless. I want to learn archery and sing to my lungs burst all in the same sitting. There aren't too many fashion documentaries I haven't seen, and when I watched Dries, I fell in love with the design process and guise of Dries van Noten even more than before. Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is an adaption of a play with the same name featuring my favourite Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman in his last film. A sharp story steeped in Talent, Race and ultimately Power. Two international romance dramas, the Chilean El Príncipe and the Taiwanese Your Name Engraved Herein capture love and loss beautifully.
