9th April 2013, Carriageworks, Sydney, Australia
This is one of those pinch me/this is never going to go anywhere from here moments. I used to attend Mercedes Benz fashion week Australia and this was my second year attending. Whilst waiting around for another Fashion show I was scouted by a photographer for a fashion week shoot for Marie Claire (internally my jaw was to the floor). Now like all things in fashion and media, nothing is set in stone so I took it as a fun opportunity and left it like that. Cut to a few months later and I was in the magazine!
DID YOU KNOW?
- This was my second MBFWA, this was the first at Carriageworks. It was a fun and expensive experience curating outfits and seeing other media entities and fellow bloggers (yes at the time they were still called bloggers). I haven't been back in a few years with work and content changes.
- Believe it or not, I'm not comfortable being shot by others let alone a professional photographer! I was wearing this Givenchy Nose bridge jewellery that I had to stick with double-sided tape to adhere, but I was nervous that the photos wouldn't translate or it would fall and I'd have Givenchy logo marks on my nose... luckily neither of them happened.
- The editor-in-chief at the time Jackie Frank selected me for the shoot, again knowing who she was crazy but a really fun experience. She was fascinated with my nose jewellery.
- My planned looks for MBFWA were colour based, from memory it was a wet day so I opted the bright red look. It was a Zara Red Short Suit, Givenchy Nose bridge jewellery, Christopher Kane Jelly Clutch & Marc by Marc Jacobs Sneakers
