12th August 2012, Brunswick, Victoria, Australia

This is the first outfit photos I ever took in public. This was taken after lunch in an alleyway in Brunswick, the 'indie' area of Melbourne. I thought that the graffiti was cool and edgy, the best backdrop Nowadays it's safe to say I tend to steer clear from anything loud as a backdrop. I had no clue how to pose and I felt so self-conscious if people were to walk past or see me.

NOTES
  • At the time Kaleidoscope prints were all the rage from McQueen to Josh Goot. I didn't have the salary to afford designer clothing so I settled on this H&M legging print. Something about kaleidoscope prints seemed luxurious, I remember collecting different ones in Europe.
  • Alexander Wang was fresh off the bat and it seemed that everyone had a bag with the iconic studs on the bottom. I bought myself the Alexander Wang Diego bucket bag from ShopBop as a Christmas present to myself the year before, and I still have it all these years later.
  • I was obsessed with shoes, wedges to be specific. I wore those Rubi faux suede wedges every day. It was so hard to find a simple wedge in my size! I remember wanting them in the black pleather but I could never find a pair in a size 42.
  • This necklace was an archive piece from Sass and Bide called 'Mark my Tusk'. Before reseller markets were the in thing, I would scour eBay trying to find this baby. And I still have it!
