22.06.16: Maybe I am getting bored or just more pickier as time goes on. So far I have only pinned around 30
looks, when previously I'm pin happy with over 100... and with only Paris to go, Spring 17 is shaping up to be
very selective bunch. Nevertheless there is still inspiration from Pyjama Looks from Dolce & Gabbana, Etro and
Vivienne Westwood. Raf Simons develops his signature of larger than life Knits and Graphic Insertions
which I am eager to play with. The wildcard, formerly known as JW Anderson will always draw out the shock
controversy that traditional men fear, however his clean slimline silhouettes add a relief to the loud runway.
Christopher Shannon and E. Tautz keep my love for short shorts alive, coupled with generous top halves to
try and balance that sort after gaunt model frame. My new guilty pleasure Gucci headed up by the new Creative
Director Alessandro Michele showcases a presentation of colour and extravagance. Unfortunately not much
of my beloved Grey was used however nods to preppy school boy knee high socks and silk kimono suits are
more than enough to get a second look in my book.
29-06-16: Paris brings home the bacon. A sense of relaxation carries though from Haider Ackerman's draped
shirts and kimono jackets to the combination of light crepes and linen-like fabrics from Issey Miyake. Balmain
and Yang li reinterpret the common basics and chambray denim to the point where I want to bring out the fabric
scissors and practice some DIYs on some much loves wardrobe pieces. Pyjama style looks from Trussardi
strengthen my love from taking the bed out in public. A fresh spring refresh comes from Pigalle, with white basics
coupled with pastel accents make me want to take up a very posh game of tennis or squash. Overall there are
very nonchalant styles for the spring, nothing too formal or fitted. The perfect mix for a personal wardrobe.
Offering that contrast from the working suit collection, to be honest after 5 days in a suit it is a much needed
relief to be in something new and relaxed.. that and bed.
