You are Gold... Literally
There are so many skincare 'it' ingredients that at times it is hard to keep up with what's effective versus the ones that are simply instagramable. Charcoal, Coffee, Vitamins and Acids, the list goes on and on. Not going to lie... I have tried a majority of them if not got some things yet to try in my cupboard. Sassou Japan, is an anti-ageing skincare brand that makes products that are both cutting-edge and effective... not to mention one of their key ingredients is Gold. There is the belief that Gold can help improve circulation and skin revitalisation, such buzzwords one cannot turn away from. Realistically I find Japanese products always have a high association with quality without the need to delve into the unsavoury additives to get the same results. Last month I was lucky enough to be gifted a set of Sassou Japan products to review, aside from their benefits the products look spellbinding. Because who doesn't like or want to try gold suspended in gels and creams?
This cleansing bar is a cult classic for the brand. Housed in a clear case, this decadent bar is a bit tedious to use. Lathering the bar in the provided cleansing pad, you soon develop a foam that you apply on your face. There is a light fragrance, but it seems like a by-product rather than added in. The bar reminds of the Shishedo foaming cleanser, which gently cleanses the skin leaving it noticeably clearer and exfoliated. The bar is designed to purify and reduce inflammation and increase collagen production, this bar is pretty much worth its weight in... you guessed it.
Two pumps of this serum at night covers my face and neck in a light protective layer of moisture. You can see the tiny flecks of gold in each pump which encourages you not to waste a drop! This is probably is my favourite product, sheerly for the fact is it easy to use and layer without any fragrance. With ingredients like Gold, Algae Extract and Honey to increase collagen, hydrate and encourage skin rejuvenation. This fits in seamlessly into my routine, light and refreshing.
The Sassou Japan range definitely gets my tick of approval. Though each product is supercharged with ingredients, the simplicity in its composition makes it easy to use and incorporate into a routine. No crazy scents or feeling of clogging your pores. Moderately priced between $100-200, one does expect a efficient level of effectiveness and longevity, so far these products do not dissapoint.
